Chadd went to India with the Kapoor Family!

Chadd had a wonderful trip to India with the Kapoor Family!

CHADD’s trip to India...a different continent, a different culture, a different world... a place that amazes your senses and lets you discover your surroundings as if you were just born!

Summer vacation was approaching and Chadd was nervously waiting in the school office to be picked up. All of a sudden the drawer opened and he was handed to the Kapoor family! Hooray Chadd was off to India!

On July 19th, Chadd’s trip started. It was a quick ride to the Newark International Airport, where he boarded the 17.5 hours plane journey to Ahmedabad. He then took a cab to Shipra & Panash’s maternal grandma’s place in Baroda (also known as” Vadodara” a city in Western India state of Gujarat).

Cool Fact: In 1907, a small village and township in Michigan, United States, was named after Baroda.

Chadd got the currency Exchange completed (1USD = 64.20 INR) and was ready to spend!

Chadd had great fun in Vadodara chilling out at home with the Kapoor cousins, visiting parks and museums and palaces, and eating lots & lots of different Indian foods.

What fun! A Joy ride on a Toy train which was gifted to the park by the current royal family in Vadodara.

On 3rd August, Chadd and the Kapoor family took a train ride to New Delhi (Capital of India), to stay with Panash & Shipra’s Paternal Grandma & Grandpa.

Chadd visited the Eleven Figures (Hindi – Gyarah Murti): The massive, glistening black sculpture depicting Gandhi’s iconic Dandi March of 1931 stands proudly in the heart of the city. Chadd is in Shipra’s hand if you can see him…

On 8th August, Chadd went to Jaipur (India’s first planned city) from Delhi by train to see India’s true majestic past and to feel how the kings and rulers of India used to live. Jaipur, the Pink City is a very magnificent city with splendid palaces, which till date are well preserved. Its vibrant markets and feel of the city makes it a remarkable tourist destination.

Amber Fort...hanging out on the window of the Fort!

Next they went to Hawa Mahal (also known as the Palace of Winds): This is a most important attraction of Jaipur, located on the southern part of the city. This amazing five storied building contains a well-designed museum, depicting the past and present of Jaipur.

The Kapoor family stopped over to take pictures at Jal Mahal – Water Palace. Panash and Shipra dressed up as the locals of Rajasthan. Don’t they look cute! Chadd was too scared to go near the water.

Shipra & Chadd got down to take a panoramic view of the Jaigarh fort. Jaigarh Fort is situated on the promontory called the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the Aravalli range.

The fort features a cannon named "Jaivana", which was manufactured in the fort precincts and was then the world's largest cannon on wheels and was manufactured in 1720.

A Memorable Elefantastic day: The last day of the trip they decided to take a round of the nearby markets and visit Elephant Village (home to hundreds of elephants).  Chadd got to ride, feed and play with Elephants!

Shipra enjoyed painting on the elephant while Chadd and Panash did some Elefun. Do you see our school name on the elephant? “Go CFES!!!”

The whole trip was very adventurous, memorable and enjoyable. Chadd met new people, tried new food and visited lots of new places. This world is an amazing place! Can’t wait for another exciting journey! Thank you Kapoor Family!
