Chadds travels to Punta Cana, DR with the Marcottes!

Chadd recently traveled to Punta Cana of the Dominican Republic with the Marcotte family!

Chadd on the sign at Bavaro Beach where he and the Marcottes stayed...

Chadd enjoyed the sand and swimming. There were no fish there though and they learned that this is still the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea. The water is still warm but not good for snorkeling.

Chadd enjoying the beautiful view...

Chadd visited this church in Higuey. The Dominican Republic is mostly Catholic.

Chadd enjoyed the visit to a coffee and cocoa bean plantation. Here the beans are drying in the sun...

Here is Chadd under some paprika seeds.

Chadd showed us all the products that can be made using cocoa beans, coffee beans and coconuts.

Chadd found some shade sitting on a cocoa bean. It was in 1864 that cocoa began to be considered as a major component of Dominican exports.

Chadd also found fun in climbing banana trees. Did you know that the Banana trees produce fruit only once and then the tree gets cut down, to be grown again the next year?

Chadd is a real trickster! He’s on a mini-golf course! :)

The Dominican Republic is a nation on the island of Hispaniola in the Carribean region and shares the island with Haiti. Both by area and population, it is the second-largest Caribbean nation with nearly 10 million people . Christopher Columbus landed on the island in 1492, where the Taíno people inhabited since the 7th century. It became the site of the first permanent European settlement in the Americas.

What a great trip!
